You're the writer. I'll trust that you can come up with something to fix this egregious insult. As for Idol last night... um... just... yowch! Freda Payne and Thelma Huston looked great... for their age. Both in their late 60s (I do agree that seeing Thelma's breasts hoisted up to her collarbones was a little disturbing... and fascinating when you try to figure out the engineering behind it!) and, though they've lost a couple of notes, not too many and certainly not as many as one would expect from ladies of their age. Plus, "Band of Gold" is in the "Best songs ever" category for me, so... What confused me was when they announced K.C. from K.C. and the Sunshine Band was coming out and Season One Tony Soprano came out and started singing. My wife assured me that it was, in fact, K.C., but I'm still wary. Witness Protection is what I'm thinking. (Funny side note: The bride occasionally goes through phases of listening to different styles of music. This weekend past it was disco and "Get Down Tonight" was the last song that she had listened to. Coinkidink!) *ahem* I mean... um... Disco? What's that? I don't remember disco! But it is amazing how when you mention things like the 1977 riots, the BBC strike, the Marquez sinking, Rick Astley (joke) that people born in, say, 1980 look at you like you're from another planet. On the other hand, watching truly ancient disco stars trying to be young again on American Idol last night was kind of weird and tragic! You got me good. I can promise you that being in your 40s is not old.
